SAMPLING GUIDELINES

STEP 1
Use a large, clean container in which to collect small portions from multiple locations and depths within the compost pile. Avoid surface layers that may be affected by environmental exposure.
STEP 2
Thoroughly mix the collected material to create a uniform, homogenous sample. Ensure all structural components of the compost are evenly incorporated.

STEP 3
Measure out 250g of the mixed sample.
Place it in a clean, durable plastic bag.
Seal the bag securely to prevent leaks or contamination during transport.
STEP 4
Clearly label the sample with the collection date and a descriptive reference or sample ID.
Cover the label with transparent tape to prevent smudging or damage

STEP 5
Refrigerate the sample immediately after packaging.
Keep it chilled until it is delivered to the laboratory for analysis.
